IO Semiconductor Selects AWR Software

IO Semiconductor (IOsemi) today  announced that it has select Analog Office from AWR Corporation as its design tool for use in creating IOsemi’s next generation of advanced RF products.

“AWR provides one of the most advanced and complete set of tools for the design of high performance analog and RF chip designs.” said Stuart Molin, one of IOsemi’s Founder and it’s Chief Technology Officer.  “In addition to allowing us to do full chip design, simulation, and layout, AWR’s product allows us to extend our design simulations onto and into the design of our customers end products such as RF Modules and Circuit Boards.”

Based in San Diego, CA, IO Semiconductor (IOsemi) is an early-stage fabless semiconductor startup targeting devices for the RF Front End of multi-band, multi-mode cellular handsets.

IO Semiconductor Announces Multi-Stage Funding Agreement

IO Semiconductor Incorporated (IOsemi), a San Diego fabless semiconductor start-up company, today announced that it has completed a multi-stage funding agreement with a private investor.

“IOsemi is very pleased to have completed this multi-staged investment that provides the capital necessary to move IOsemi from our current stage of technology development all the way through volume production”, said Mark Drucker, CEO of IOsemi. This speaks very highly of IOsemi’s technology and our overall business plans.”

IOsemi was formed in 2008 and is focused on the development of a high performance CMOS based technology that offers performance levels equal to or better than exotic materials, like Gallium Arsenide, without sacrificing the inherent integration and economic advantages associated with CMOS.  IOsemi expects to introduce its first products, utilizing this technology, in 2011.

In July of 2009, IOsemi was accepted into the EvoNexus incubator for high tech start-up companies based in San Diego. Since that time, IOsemi has been supported by EvoNexus with furnished office space, utilities, mentoring and educational opportunities.

“EvoNexus is proud to see IO Semiconductor achieve this investment milestone”, said Cathy Pucher, Executive Director of EvoNexus.  “EvoNexus is dedicated to supporting young high tech companies as they grow into self-sustaining companies contributing to the San Diego economy, and we congratulate IOsemi on this important step toward the growth of their business.”
